Hair History

Basically, this post is inspired by Rach at Koko Luxe! Go check out her hair history post - she's still totally gorge. I remember Rachael from way back in the day when I first started blogging and I knew she wouldn't mind me stealing her post idea. I checked, and she's cool with it, fyi!

I wanted to do a post on my hair anyway, cos I'm in the process of going blonder and I thought this post would be a good place to start so you can see the kinda thing I'm dealing with. You'll see below that my hair is naturally quite thick, relatively straight and naturally a mid/dark brown. Get ready for the lols...

Obviously this is little Sophie - before nothing was done to my hair! I had that thick fringe literally until I was about 7, and then I grew it out and grew my hair almost to my bum until I was about 13. Obviously I had it cut and had some layers and stuff put in but it was pretty much the same. I also really love that birthday cake but my auntie is refusing to make me a new one :(

Oh my gawwwwwwd. I was literally such a poser... When I was 14 I thought it was a good idea to cut all my hair off and have a stupid fringe like I was 4 again. Lovely. It was still it's natural colour for a bit, until I decided to dye it a reddy colour which I did for about a year. It wasn't great, but not as bad as it could have been! As I got towards the last couple of years at Secondary School, I got it back to it's natural colour and had a side fringe and layers which was how it stayed for a while!
As you can see, I had a hair disaster at around 19 and ended up looking a bit like Whitney from Eastenders. I seriously cried and panic texted my hairdresser to fix it instantly!

This is where the most change happened I think. Basically in the space of a couple of years, I tried going blonde and hated it. It always went too bright at the roots and too ginger at the ends and at the time, was far too much maintenance. I left it natural for a few months and then got a perm. Yes, I got a perm and I didnt look like a poodle! I loved that perm and would actually do it again. It was also before I learnt to fill in my eyebrows.

During this stage I pretty much left my hair it's natural colour, apart from a bit of ombre I did which you can see in the first pic. I remember dying it a couple of times at home but only ever went a shade or two darker than my actual colour! I pretty much alternated between having a fringe and not, and having long and short hair! I like both, but definitely prefer it longer!

Here, I dabbled in a bit of ombre for a while again and then decided to cut all the ombre out! I had a graduated bob which you cant really see but I decided it was too much effort! The past 4 months or so I have been having my hair lightened, and it's finally almost as a point that I'm totally happy with! :) I know I'm not meant to be a blonde, but I'm having fun going that way! I'm gonna do a post all about the journey but the last 2 pictures here show the first session and my last session.

So that's it for me! Have you done a hair history post? Which hairstyle do you like the best on me!?

Love
Sophie x
